Revelation 18:2 tells us that Babylon the great is fallen. As we have learned, this takes place in the heavens at trumpet 7. However, it takes time for this to play out on earth. Babylonian government will slowly fall as the cups are poured out—and then what remains will fall after the Battle of Armageddon. Then the reign of Elohim will be established here on earth.
Hitgalut (Revelation) 18:1-3
1 After these things I saw another messenger coming down from heaven, having great authority, and the earth was illuminated with his glory.
2 And he cried mightily with a loud voice, saying, “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird!
3 For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.”
Verse 3 says all nations have drunk the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Verse 4 commands us to come out of Babylon, lest we share in her sins, and receive of her plagues. Let us study this command, and see why it means we are to leave the Babylonian spirit behind.
Hitgalut (Revelation) 18:4-5
4 And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.
5 For her sins have reached to heaven, and Elohim has remembered her iniquities.”
The term Elohim (אלהים) normally refers to Yahweh. However, the term technically means rulers—and on occasion it also refers to judges, or to mighty men (i.e., earthly rulers).
OT:430 ‘elohiym (el-o-heem’); plural of OT:433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative:
KJV – angels, exceeding, God (gods)- dess, -ly), (very) great, judges, mighty [men].
One place the term elohim likely refers to earthly rulers is in Genesis 6:1-4. Remember that Yahweh originally created us to hear and obey His voice, which includes waiting on Him to bring us the bride of His choice. However, by Genesis 6 the rulers of men had corrupted themselves. They began using power and position to take wives for themselves of all whom they chose. This means that instead of waiting on Yahweh to bring them the bride of His choice, they began marrying whoever they wanted (just as the rich and powerful do today). Their spirit was essentially Babylonian.
B’reisheet (Genesis) 6:1-4
1 Now it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born to them,
2 that the sons of the rulers [elohim] saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose.
3 And Yahweh said, “My Spirit shall not strive with man forever, for he is indeed flesh; yet his days shall be one hundred and twenty years.”
4 There were giants on the earth in those days, and also afterward, when the sons of the rulers [elohim] came in to the daughters of men and they bore children to them. Those were the mighty men who were of old, men of renown.
[Some people think this passage speaks of spirit beings mating with human women, who had 40 pound babies that grew to be over 20 feet tall. However, these theories do not make sense. No human woman would survive the gestation of such a 40 pound baby (let alone giving birth to it). Further, that which is of the Spirit is spirit, and that which is of the flesh is flesh—and the two do not mix. Additionally, verse 4 clearly specifies these elohim as being mighty men of old, men of renown—not spirits.]
Before the Flood there were local rulers. After the Flood there began to be Babylonian-style empires, which were led by emperors. They hunted and killed other emperors. Then Genesis 10:8-9 tells us that Nimrod began to be a mighty hunter before Yahweh. This means he was a mighty emperor that hunted ever-more power and control. (He probably chose his own wives, instead of waiting for Yahweh to bring him a wife.) He was the father of Babylon, establishing the pattern of self-serving misuse of power, which all Babylonian-style kings and empires have followed ever since.
B’reisheet (Genesis) 10:8-12
8 Cush begot Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one on the earth.
9 He was a mighty hunter before Yahweh; therefore it is said, “Like Nimrod the mighty hunter before Yahweh.”
10 And the beginning of his kingdom was Babel, Erech, Accad, and Calneh, in the land of Shinar.
11 From that land he went to Assyria and built Nineveh, Rehoboth Ir, Calah,
12 and Resen between Nineveh and Calah (that is the principal city).
The Babylonian Empire has taken many forms. First we saw Babylon, then Medea-Persia, then Greece, then Rome—and now the combined Christian and Islamic worlds strive together to establish control over the world.
Daniel 7:7
7 “After this I saw in the night visions, and behold, a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, exceedingly strong. It had huge iron [Roman] teeth; it was devouring, breaking in pieces, and trampling the residue with its feet. It was different from all the beasts that were before it [in that it was a spiritual beast], and it had ten horns.”
The reason the Christians and Muslims strive together to take over the whole world is that they descend from Ya’akov (Jacob) and Esau, who strove together in the womb of their mother Rivkah (Rebekah).
B’reisheet (Genesis) 25:22-23
22 But the children struggled together within her; and she [Rebekah] said, “If all is well, why am I like this?” So she went to inquire of Yahweh.
23 And Yahweh said to her: “Two nations are in your womb, Two peoples shall be separated from your body; One people shall be stronger than the other, And the older shall serve the younger.”
If we approach this with spiritual understanding, let us consider that it is the sons of Ya’akov (the man of flesh) who are striving again the sons of Israel (the upright of Elohim), including the Nazarenes. Thus the Babylonian harlot and her daughters (the Protestant churches) seek to destroy the bride.
Earlier we saw that the mark of the Babylonian beast is loyalty to Babylon, while the mark of Yahweh is loyalty to Yahweh. Coming out of Babylon, then, is not so much fleeing from a physical place, as it is submitting to Elohim, and giving our loyalty wholly and completely to Him.
Papal Christianity, Islam, and Zionist (political) Judaism are Babylonian spiritual bodies. They are also the white, green, and red horses. We must not be loyal to any of these Babylonian horses—or to Babylonian democracy (which is the red horse).
In Hebrew, the word for Babylon is bavel (בבל), spelled beit, beit, lamed. The letter beit is a picture of a house, while lamed is a picture of a staff (symbolic of authority). The word picture is that of authority being shared by more than one house. This is a picture of democracy, where power is shared between houses. However, democracies devolve over time, because the majority usually only agrees on those measures which will increase power and money. Therefore they elect governments that effectively increase their wealth through economic and military imperialism. (This is a perfect picture of America and all other Greco-Roman-Babylonian empires throughout history.)
Yeshua tells us that any kingdom or house which is divided against itself cannot stand; this is why democracies (and democratic republics) always fall.
Marqaus (Mark) 3:24-25
24 “If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand.
25 And if a house is divided against itself, that house cannot stand.”
The point is that sometimes people say that in order to flee Babylon, we must emigrate from this or that nation. That is not correct. Rather, Babylon is a spirit, and spirits typically manifest themselves in more than one place (and in more than one way) at once. If we flee America, and go to Israel, but we still idealize democracy, then we are still in Babylon, because we still idealize Babylonian institutions.
Revelation 18, however, does speak of a physical city called Babylon. Where is this city?
Hitgalut (Revelation) 18:6-19
6 “Render to her just as she rendered to you, and repay her double according to her works; in the cup which she has mixed, mix double for her.
7 In the measure that she glorified herself and lived luxuriously, in the same measure give her torment and sorrow; for she says in her heart, ‘I sit as queen, and am no widow, and will not see sorrow.’
8 Therefore her plagues will come in one day — death and mourning and famine. And she will be utterly burned with fire, for strong is Yahweh Elohim who judges her.
9 The kings of the earth who committed fornication and lived luxuriously with her will weep and lament for her, when they see the smoke of her burning,
10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’
11 And the merchants of the earth will weep and mourn over her, for no one buys their merchandise anymore:
12 merchandise of gold and silver, precious stones and pearls, fine linen and purple, silk and scarlet, every kind of citron wood, every kind of object of ivory, every kind of object of most precious wood, bronze, iron, and marble;
13 and cinnamon and incense, fragrant oil and frankincense, wine and oil, fine flour and wheat, cattle and sheep, horses and chariots, and bodies and souls of men.
14 The fruit that your soul longed for has gone from you, and all the things which are rich and splendid have gone from you, and you shall find them no more at all.
15 The merchants of these things, who became rich by her, will stand at a distance for fear of her torment, weeping and wailing,
16 and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city that was clothed in fine linen, purple, and scarlet, and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls!
17 For in one hour such great riches came to nothing.’ Every shipmaster, all who travel by ship, sailors, and as many as trade on the sea, stood at a distance
18 and cried out when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, ‘What is like this great city?’
19 They threw dust on their heads and cried out, weeping and wailing, and saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city, in which all who had ships on the sea became rich by her wealth! For in one hour she is made desolate.’”
This is probably Rome, as we already saw that Rome will be divided into three parts at cup 7.
Hitgalut (Revelation) 16:19-20
19 Now the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell. And great Babylon was remembered before Elohim, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath.
20 Then every island [national boundary] fled away, and the mountains [governments] were not found.
However, since Babylon is a spirit which can manifest in many ways and many places all at the same time, the great city that burns with fire might also be New York (which is the headquarters of Wall Street). Verse 13 tells us that Babylon trades the bodies and souls of men. Many authors have documented how human lives are essentially bought and sold on the New York Stock Exchange, how governments of various countries are literally classified as corporations for the purposes of stock trading, and how all of it is owned by the Crown of London (which is not the royal family of England, but rather a private banking cartel owned by the Rothschild and Warburg families, among others). Their trafficking in human lives has been responsible for the deaths of untold millions of human beings.
[Those wishing to know more about how human beings are bought and sold on the New York Stock Exchange may read various works such as: The Empire of the City, Creature from Jekyll Island, A Second Look at the Federal Reserve, Wall Street and the Rise of Hitler, and They Own It All (Including You!) by Means of Toxic Currency. These and other books show how Wall Street is owned by the black horse banking families of London.]
Americans and other Babylonian citizens are often loyal to the system, in that it provides an abundance of material wealth (which is basically the spoils of economic war). As long as the citizens continue to feel enfranchised, most will continue to be loyal. But, ultimately, the black horse elites plan to suck all of the wealth up and out of the system, and depopulate the earth (so as to leave more of earth’s resources for them and their children). Eventually the average man will no longer be able to be loyal to the system, and Babylon will fall. This will take place between trumpet 7 and cup 7. When this happens, those in charge of the system will be punished—and Yahweh’s set-apart apostles and prophets are commanded to rejoice.
Hitgalut (Revelation) 18:20
20 “Rejoice over her, O heaven, and you set-apart apostles and prophets, for Elohim has avenged you on her!”
Since this is a future event, the fivefold ministry gifts of apostles, prophets, evangelists, pastors, and teachers are clearly still for today. We explain these in more detail in Nazarene Israel.
Hitgalut (Revelation) 18:21-24
21 Then a mighty angel took up a stone like a great millstone and threw it into the sea, saying, “Thus with violence the great city Babylon shall be thrown down, and shall not be found anymore.
22 The sound of harpists, musicians, flutists, and trumpeters shall not be heard in you anymore. No craftsman of any craft shall be found in you anymore, and the sound of a millstone shall not be heard in you anymore.
23 The light of a lamp shall not shine in you anymore, and the voice of bridegroom and bride shall not be heard in you anymore. For your merchants were the great men of the earth, for by your sorcery all the nations were deceived.
24 And in her was found the blood of prophets and saints, and of all who were slain on the earth.”
Once Babylon and her associated demon governments come crashing down, there will be one final battle—Armageddon—as Satan makes one last-ditch effort to stop Yeshua’s people from establishing the millennial reign. In the next chapter we show how Satan’s effort will fail—and then it will be time to go home.
