OFFICIAL 7TH MONTH FEAST SCHEDULE:
31 August 2023 (Evening)-Chag HaSukkot Aleph!
Chag HaSukkot (the Feast of Tabernacles) begins this evening, 31 August 2023, which is the evening beginning the 15th day of the 7th Hebrew month. 31 August (evening) through 1 September (evening) is Chag HaSukkot Aleph (the 1st day of the Feast of Tabernacles).
Significance: In the ancient Hebrew wedding ceremony, Chag HaSukkot represents the wedding week. In Western culture, this is often thought of as the ‘honeymoon’ period. It is when the consummation takes place and the husband and bride officially come to dwell together as one united body. (When Yeshua and His bride are officially united and the bride finally gets to dwell with her Husband and King, forever!) During Sukkot, we are testifying to the all nations that we wait upon Yahweh to fulfill His promise to bring us back home again, both physically to the land of Israel and spiritually at Yeshua’s return.
No Servile Work: Yahweh commands us to do no servile work (work for pay, chores, etc.) on Sukkot Aleph (the First Day of Tabernacles) and on Shemini Atzeret (the 8th Great Day). This is a time of celebrating our wedding with our King, Yeshua! Building our sukkah is permitted on the first day.
Building our sukkah: We build (and decorate) our sukkah (tabernacle) on the afternoon of the first day of Sukkot, at evening. (The afternoon of 1 September.) Then we dwell in our sukkah for the whole [wedding] week, until the afternoon of Shemini Atzeret (when symbolically, the Husband and bride [Yeshua and us] pack up and head home to begin life together.) As we explain in “SukKot: The Feast of Tabernacles”, a tent is not the same as an authentic sukkah. However, in the dispersion, where building an authentic sukkah is not always possible for everyone, many will set up tents outdoors for the week. The point to remember is that we are dwelling with Yahweh (trusting in His protection and provision).
Decorations: Throughout the Babylonian year, many people decorate for Babylonian traditions, such as Christmas, Easter, Halloween, etc. These Babylonian traditions are pagan traditions, in honor of ‘elohim of the nations’. Yahweh our Elohim tells us to not take part in such traditions and to worship Him only in the way that He commands us. Sukkot involves decorations that Yahweh chooses! And these decorations are in honor and thanks to Yahweh, for all of the provisions He has given us throughout the year (harvest season). Once again, many of us live in the dispersion, and may not have all of these specific decorations accessible to us. But we should try to follow Yahweh’s commandments to the best of our ability. After all, it is Yeshua’s wedding! And His Father gets to choose the wedding decor! According to Vayiqra (Leviticus) 23:40, we are to decorate our sukkah with:
1. The fruit of beautiful trees
2. Branches of palm trees,
3. Boughs of leafy trees,
4. Willows of the brook.
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 23:39-40
39 “Also on the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when you have gathered in the fruit of the land, you shall keep the feast of Yahweh for seven days; on the first day there shall be a Sabbath-rest, and on the eighth day a Sabbath-rest.
40 And you shall take for yourselves on the first day the fruit of beautiful trees, branches of palm trees, the boughs of leafy trees, and willows of the brook; and you shall rejoice before Yahweh your Elohim for seven days.”
Celebrating Yahweh’s Feasts: Like all of Yahweh’s feasts, Sukkot is a time to reflect upon Yahweh’s word, to focus on Yeshua, and focus on being the type of Proverbs 31 bride that Yeshua will want to take home to His Father’s (Yahweh’s) house. Sukkot is also a time to teach our young ones the significance of Yahweh’s feasts. Like any wedding, Sukkot should be a time of joy and celebration, which our children will remember and eagerly await each year. Decorating the sukkah and camping outdoors for a week (if possible) should be a fun event, giving thanks to Yahweh for the provisions of the year.
Vayiqra (Leviticus) 23:41-43
41 “You shall keep it as a feast to Yahweh for seven days in the year. It shall be a statute forever in your generations. You shall celebrate it in the seventh month.
42 You shall dwell in sukkot for seven days. All who are native Israelites shall dwell in booths, [sukkot, tabernacles].
43 that your generations may know that I made the children of Israel dwell in booths when I brought them out of the land of Egypt: I am Yahweh your Elohim.”

Yom Kippur (or the Day of Atonement) begins on the evening of 26 August (at the end of Shabbat) and lasts through the evening of 27 August (the end of the first day).
Significance: This day represents the day of the ancient Hebrew Wedding ceremony, when our Husband (Yeshua) expects to find a pure bride. He will take those brides who are ready and waiting for Him faithfully.
Fasting: Yom Kippur is a day to “afflict our souls”, meaning that we should deny our flesh of normal, daily pleasures. Those who are able to should go without food and water for this 24-hour period, giving the day wholly unto Elohim. [If you are pregnant or have another health condition where fasting is a health risk, please pray about how to deny your flesh during this 24-hour period. There may be other things that you can sustain from this day.] Otherwise, this is a day for fasting, denying our fleshly desires, and striving to get rid of anything that our Husband Yeshua would find displeasing to Him.
Forgiveness: Also, if another spiritual brother or sister is indebted to us in any way, this is a day for genuine forgiveness of those debts, as we would want Yeshua to forgive our debts.
No Servile Work: Yahweh commands us to do no servile work on this day (no work for pay). Who wants to work during their own wedding ceremony and miss that special time with Yeshua? Absolutely not!

29 “This shall be a statute forever for you: In the seventh month, on the tenth day of the month, you shall afflict your souls, and do no work at all, whether a native of your own country or a stranger who dwells among you.

The evening of 17 August 2023 (yesterday evening) marked the end of the 30th day of the 6th month and the beginning of the 7th month. That means that today is Yom Teruah (The Day of Trumpets)! HalleluYah! Yom Teruah symbolizes the announcement of the soon return of our Husband and King, Yeshua! When His bride should be found faithfully waiting His coming and prepared to meet Him.
We pray that everyone has a blessed celebration in Yahweh Elohim.

The new moon of the 6th Hebrew month was seen on the evening of 18 July 2023. The evening of 16 August 2023 marks the 30th day of the 6th Hebrew month. The new moon of the 7th Hebrew month is expected to be seen on the evening of 17 August 2023. Because a Hebrew month cannot surpass 30 days, the evening of 17 August 2023 will be the beginning of the 7th Hebrew month, regardless of the sighting of the new moon (from the land of Israel).
This means that Yom Teruah begins on the evening of 17 August 2023, regardless of whether or not the new moon is sighted from the land of Israel. Please see the finalized feast chart (at top of this page) for official 7th month feast dates!

Praise be to Yahweh our Father! His timing with the aviv barley proves perfect every year! As of the latest barley report by Becca Biderman (Acient Path New Moon) on 6 March 2023, THERE IS officially enough AVIV BARLEY to present the TRUE FIRSTFRUITS unto Yahweh Elohim on Yom HaNafat HaOmer (the day of the wave sheaf offering) on 12 March 2023. According to Becca Biderman’s most recent barley report on 21 February 2023, there is not today enough aviv (medium dough) barley to form an omer. However, unless Yahweh drastically alters the course of the weather, we believe that there will be enough aviv barley to form an omer by Yom Yom HaNafat HaOmer (the Day of the Wave Sheaf Offering), which this year comes 19 days after Rosh HaShanah (the new year). For that reason, we are declaring the new moon of 21 February 2023 as Rosh HaShanah (the beginning of the new Hebrew year)!

“Within the field there are a few shattering grains, a few indivisible with the thumbnail, a few soft enough to roll into a ball of dough ( bingo!). There’s an area that reminds me of last year’s firstfruits portion of the field.”- Becca Biderman, Israel.
Details:Currently, Becca Biderman of Ancient Path New Moon is the only barley inspector who seems to understand what a proper wave sheaf is (and why you cannot take the “first” fruits from the middle of the harvest!). She documents her work, and it seems accurate as far as we can tell. There are several other (Amalekite) barley groups whose work we cannot recommend in any way. They ignore Deuteronomy 16:9, they define “firstfruits” as a random sheaf from the middle of the harvest, and they add rules and definitions that Yahweh does not add, etc. They are seemingly always a month (or sometimes two months) late, and they try to devalue sister Biderman’s work through (seemingly mean-spirited) tactics.While several groups sight the first crescent sliver of the new moon well, as far as we can tell, only sister Becca Biderman publishes accurate barley reports. Her inspections of today indicate that there is already some barley in the aviv (medium dough) stage. There are a few stalks already shattering. While there is not enough for an omer on the day of the new moon sighting, the omer is not needed today, but in 19 days (on the day of the Wave Sheaf Offering). While sister Biderman is not making any predictions, Nazarene Israel believes that unless Yahweh sends catastrophic weather (or otherwise scuttles what can be normally expected), there WILL BE enough aviv barley on Yom HaNafat HaOmer to present the wave sheaf offering. Based on that, Nazarene Israel is declaring the month of the aviv barley, and Rosh HaShanah (the Head of the Year).Even more details:As we explain in Establishing the Head of the Year, Feasts of the First Month, and other studies available on the NI website, there only needs to be enough aviv barley ready for the omer (wave sheaf) firstfruit offering by either the 15th or the 21st day of the first month. As explained in these studies, it is a disaster if we declare Rosh HaShanah too late, because it would force farmers in the land of Israel who have the earliest ripening barley to do one of two things: A) Either they must break Devarim (Deuteronomy) 16:9 and begin harvesting their crop BEFORE the firstfruit offering has been presented unto Yahweh for the nation. Or B) Lose all or part of their barley crop, while they wait an extra month for the leaders to declare Rosh HaShanah!By declaring the true firstfruits unto Yahweh Elohim as He commands, and keeping His appointed days according to His perfect timing, the farmers do not need to lose their crops; neither are they encouraged to break any of Yahweh’s commandments.For more on declaring Rosh HaShanah, please visit the Nazarene Israel website for the studies on aviv barley and the Torah calendar. Currently, as of 15 February 2023, no barley has been found that qualifies for beginning the new Hebrew Year next month, at the 22 February “expected” new moon sighting. There is still a small possibility that the barley (image #1) may be ready by the new moon. Shalom! After inspection of the barley photographed 3 January and 19 January (previous posts), Becca Biderman confrimed that the barley is further along than the barley in Galilee, but is not close to aviv stage. Below is Becca’s commentary and photograph of the inspection.

Becca Biderman (barley and new moon witness, Israel) reports that the barley is in advancing early this ‘growing season’, with barley heads showing in the image. Please watch for updates in the following weeks concerning the barley development.
“I will visit the location in yesterday’s [19 January 2023] photos in the first half of next week. All I can tell you now is that this area has barley with heads showing. That’s the significance of the photos. I don’t know if the heads have bloomed or have starch; I’ll know after I visit there. This rainy season has been the hottest season of the last fifty years. There has been little rain. Plus, we’ve already seen a field of wild oats in my area. I’m not surprised to find a region of barley this advanced with everything the earth and the heavens have/haven’t provided.”
“The barley in the photos only proves that things are clipping along at a nice little pace. However, there is talk from my weather nerd group of a cold and rainy end of January into February. I say good because it will slow things down a little. I, for one, love the green and growing season. It never stays around long enough for me.
